Well what a busy few weeks I have had and as the saying goes, charity begins at home.

1st I would like to share with you two things that are very close to my heart that I have had the pleasure to be involved with recently. I have raised £310.00 so far for #bravetheshave by firstly having my head shaved then with a bit of persuasion ( an extra £50) I shaved my beard off too.

I didn't think I would like it and with the beard I thought it was just about ok but without i'm not so sure. However it was all for a good cause and I also have the added bonus of not being recognised when I walk down the street by some of my friends :-)

Whilst also on the hair theme.I was thrilled to be offered the opportunity to capture some of the great work being done last Friday by the Samuel Anderson barbering team who were asked to help out at Gloucester's local homeless shelter as part of an event set up by the Young Gloucestershire team.
As the Young Gloucestershire team provided these guys with hot food, drinks, shower tokens the Samuel Anderson barbers were there helping out by doing what they do best.

Homelessness in Gloucester is a real issue and Gloucester council have taken action

Is this the right way to be helping the homeless ? Things have definately got worse for these guys since the night shelter closed. It was humbling to see these guys genuinely appreciate something that most of us don't think twice about. I had a great chat with one of the guys about photography and plan to feature some of his work on my blog in the future.

There are some major planning decisions coming up for #GloucesterQuays and Gloucester City Football coming up this week. Lets hope the planners see sense and approve them.

Iceland to get frozen out after a bigger site needed and to be able to sell a change of goods?

http://m.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/8203-when-will-iceland-build-its-new-supermarket-in-gloucester/story-29667878-detail/story.html

Iceland were granted permission over 12 months ago but now want to sell different goods and need a larger site. Its less than 15 minutes walk from the planned new bus station. Should they be considering the BHS site in town instead ? 🤔 of course not...Interesting decisions from the planners in Gloucester. What do you think ? When a business wants to invest in your city and create more jobs, isn't that a good thing ?

What next for Next ?

What next for Next ?
My personal opinion if For ? There simply isn't a site suitable for this in the city centre and it's a 10 minute walk away from the cross. What do you think ?For or against? Debate rages as £14m Next superstore for Gloucester is recommended for refusal http://www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk/for-and-against-debate-rages-14-next-superstore-recommended-for-refusal/story-29668266-detail/story.html
